At a very young age Jon spent hours each day in his grandfathers shop working with wood, metal or anything mechanical.
As an adult Jon made a career in welding, metal working and construction, eventually finding a home in providing ornamental iron for high-end homes and businesses, mainly in custom staircases.
Jon highly enjoyed using his great attention to detail to create works of art for customers and clients. Jon also began playing guitar starting at a young age for bands at school and church and was also involved in choir tours during the summer with his youth program. He developed a great love for music which never waned through the years. The thought of never completing an acoustic guitar built from scraps and fishing line around the age of eight, never disappeared from his memory.

Jon finally found a home for all of his passion and abilities in guitar and string instrument repairs and also custom guitar builds utilizing locally sourced and salvaged woods. The overall goal of Mountain Ash Guitar has been from the beginning, to give customers, clients and friends a place to go to further feed their own passion in music, by providing the most comfortable and enjoyable experience possible.
